Beautiful, hard to find restored Kirsten "S" - one of the first style from when they went to using O-rings. This is a Straight 3/8 inch ID. 3-3/4 inch long shank Kirsten Tobacco pipe.
The last photo shows the 3 styles of S pipes that Kirsten made. The differences are on the end where the bit goes in. The top is the common 1st Gen, and the fins flair up at the end. The middle pipe is like the one listed here where the fins carry all the way out to the end. (This is the one that is very hard to find). Bottom pipe is the commone 2nd Gen style where the fins stop about 1/4 inch from the end of the pipe.
Left side of aluminum body is stamped "KIRSTEN". Bottom is stamped PATS. & PATS. PEND. MADE IN U.S.A. - S.
The aluminum body has no scratches or dents and is polished to like new.
The original stem has no bite marks or chatter. The restored original bowl is beautifully carved and has been hand sanded to like new inside, with its original finish on the outside.
End cap/valve the knurling is not perfect but in pretty good shape for its age.
